How do I wash my Robin Diapers?

The skinny:
Your diaper is made from fabrics made from synthetic and natural/organic materials (unless you have a fully organic fitted, but those are rare). With any fabric, harsh chemicals can be damaging with one use, or consistent use. Please follow the recommended washing instructions for best results.

Prepping your new diaper:
Hand wash in hot water with blue dawn dishsoap. Rinse really well and throw in with a load of dirty diapers. Absorbency will continue to improve as diaper breaks in.
Suggested washing instructions:
Rinse at least once so you're not washing your diapers in pee/poo water.
Wash on hot with your detergent of choice. (This is a personal choice, as different detergents work for different areas.)
Extra rinse to wash away soap.

*DO NOT BLEACH YOUR ROBIN DIAPERS.
**if stripping is needed, please soak overnight in hot water and blue dawn dishsoap. Rinse, rinse, and rinse until you don't see any more bubbles.

**Robin diapers are guaranteed for up to 3 months for construction error. If construction errors occur,  you will be provided paypal to ship item back. If you do not, Robin diapers is no longer responsible for repairs or replacement. Robin diapers is not liable for replacement or repair of destruction of a diaper due to user error or regular wear and tear.
Diapers are made of fabric. When washed as often as they are, fabrics in diapers will fade, wear out, etc. This is the nature of fabric. How long did your favorite shirt or underwear last before you wore a hole in them?
My diapers are built to last as long as possible, and have lasted over 2 years in our home, but they won't look as pretty as the first wash. I will say they absorb just as well now as they did then.

All in two diapers and hybrids

By far my most popular options.
All in two (AI2) and hybrids are $35
embroidery is an extra cost to cover design, thread, and time needed to embroider the design. Most single designs are $5, but larger or multiple designs should be discussed with me to get an estimate.

All in two diapers are a shell, similar to a pocket, with a hidden waterproof layer of PUL. They have a print or minky outer (depending on style/print/embroidery). Inner is either microfleece, organic bamboo velour, cotton velour, or minky. These are great for long road trips or anytime use. recommended if clothing will be worn over the diaper. downside: they don't breathe, and can trap moisture inside the diaper, unlike hybrids. *see below for insert information

Hybrids are made the same as all in two, but have a hidden layer of polar fleece. The fleece "encourages" wetness to stay in the super absorbent inserts, while allowing air to circulate. This is believed to increase evaporation as well as help rashes and skin ailments heal that may be covered by a diaper. These are perfect for overnights as well as around the house wear. Hybrids will never delaminate and leak, they do not require finicky washing conditions, and they may be bleached with color safe bleach. If you are looking for the perfect solution for diaper wear around the house, a hybrid fitted is your optimum choice. Fold down rise.

*My inserts are two separate pieces that can be used together or separate. One is two layers of super heavy organic bamboo fleece topped with matching fabric (typically made from minky, but can be microfleece, bamboo or cotton velour) and one insert of just two layers super heavy organic bamboo fleece.

Custom orders policies

Customs are a very popular and frequently requested option for Robin Diapers. I want to write this here to give everyone the scoop on how to keep both you, as the buyer, and me safe from any issues.

Custom options:
  • Pockets are your choice of outers, hidden PUL, and an inner fabric. If an inner fabric is not specified by the buyer, a matching inner fabric will be chosen by Robin Diapers. The chosen fabrics are a stay dry fabric for pockets. I believe they are the best option to reduce wicking to the outer.

  • Hybrids have your choice of outers, hidden polar fleece, and inner of your choice. If inner is not specified, I will pick it for you. Usually a stay dry or velour fabric. Natural fabrics are available upon request. Inserts are made the same no matter the request. They are always two separate inserts that snap together. One is two layers of heavy organic bamboo fleece topped with matching inner fabric, the other is two layers heavy organic bamboo fleece that snaps to the back of the first. They both snap into the diaper and can be used together or separately.

  • All in two's (AI2) are made the same way as hybrids, except have hidden PUL (polyurethane laminated polyester) for a waterproof layer. I recommend these have minky in the wet zone of the outer and a stay dry fabric on the inside to reduce wicking.

  • Sleepy sheep are my overnight hybrid fitteds. These are made with the BEST fabrics I have ever found for cloth diapers, thus have a higher price tag. They have a polar fleece outer (patterns and colors may be more limited, but choices are available upon request), hidden windpro layer that makes them practically waterproof, yet still able to breathe, and a stay dry inner to maintain that dry feeling all night. The inserts on these babies are one double layer of super heavy organic bamboo fleece (SHOBF) topped with a matching stay dry fabric, and a second insert of two layers SHOBF. **a doubler is available upon request, but typically not necessary. Please contact me after a couple uses if your sleepy sheep feels wet in the mornings**
The regulations on ordering customs.
  • Payment is required within 24 hours of invoice, unless arrangements have been with the seller before invoice has been sent.
  • There are no refunds for custom orders where specific fabrics have been ordered or requested. Often fabrics are ordered just for one customer and can cause a financial hardship for the seller if fabrics are purchased and refunds are requested.
  • If there are delays due to personal reasons of the seller and orders must be delayed, refund options will be available for those requesting them. I try my best to maintain my delivery schedule and will work through personal issues as much as I can, but sometimes there are things out of my control.
  • Diapers have a 3-4 week wait time for production.
  • Customers are encouraged to contact Robin Diapers (Jessi) with any concerns or issues. I want you to be totally satisfied with your purchase.
  • Your diaper is guaranteed for three months for any construction defects related to the making of your diaper. Regular use wear and tear does not qualify under these guarantee.
Preordered fabrics
  • preordered fabrics do not qualify for the 3-4 week delivery window. They will be made as soon as possible, once fabric has arrived. This is determined by delivery time and printing process of the custom printed fabrics.
  • Preorders are usually only printed once, so there is a limited supply and these fabrics are not available for custom orders at a later date.
  • They MAY be available as premade orders for sales by Robin Diapers if there is fabric left over from preorder sales, but are not guaranteed.
